Car scratch and paintwork repairs in Colchester
From a key scratch along a door to a scuffed wing mirror or stone chips, we repair paintwork on cars and vans and match the colour to your vehicle.
How deep is the scratch?
A rough guide: if a fingernail doesn't catch, the scratch may be in the clear coat and could respond to machine polishing. If it catches, or you can see primer or bare metal, the area needs repair and refinishing.
Smart repairs and full panels
Small, contained damage can sometimes be repaired locally. Longer scratches or damage across a panel usually need the whole panel refinished and blended for an even finish. We'll explain which approach suits your damage.
Stop rust starting
Scratches down to bare metal can begin to corrode, so it's worth getting them looked at sooner rather than later.

Scratch & paintwork repairs: common questions
Can light scratches be polished out?
Sometimes. If a scratch is only in the clear coat it may be polished; deeper scratches need repair and refinishing.
Where do I find my paint code?
It's usually on a label in a door shut, under the bonnet or in the service book. If you can't find it, send your registration and we'll check.
